Taking a Stand
A video that we watched in class recently focused on the issue of homophobia and bullying against gay and transgendered people, especially in school, although it could be seen as more general as well. It depicted two male students, who were gay, trying to be able to express themselves privately, but were seen and ridiculed by others. They were teased for an ongoing period and started to feel ashamed and separate from others, so they suppressed who they really were. Eventually a friend of theirs decided to stand up for them against the group of bullies. This was displayed by the gradual standing and holding of hands of kids who wanted to convey that everyone is allowed to love and they should not be different or separate. I like the message that this video was trying to convey and I agree with it. The only thing that kind of irked me was that it was a little corny to me and I think they should have tried a better way to get the message across. All in all, though, I agree that people shouldn't be mistreated because of their sexuality. I believe gay and transgendered people should be allowed to love whoever they want. People should stand up for the rights of these people, especially when violence is involved.

Lol. I like how you state your opinion of it as being 'corny' but anywho it's true. Everyone should be allowed to express their love for others without having to be worried about being teased.
ReplyDeleteTrue,it was corny and should have been expressed in a more professional manner but all in all homosexuals shouldn't be mistreated at all specially not through violence
